Acting

Jaycie Dotin is a seasoned actress with a dynamic 20-year career spanning film, television, and theater. She is best known for her role as Katrine in the Emmy-nominated Netflix trilogy Ivy & Bean and as Marla McGuire in Hallmark’s #1 mystery series The Curious Caterer. With 44 IMDb credits to her name, Jaycie has appeared in hit shows like Big Sky, The Twilight Zone, Nancy Drew, The Baby-Sitters Club, Batwoman, Blockbuster, Siren, Supernatural, and more. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of working alongside Hollywood icons such as Jane Lynch, Allison Janney, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, gaining invaluable insights from the industry’s finest. Having worked with these masters, Jaycie has honed her technique across many genres, with comedy—notoriously the most difficult—being her favorite.

On stage, Jaycie’s standout performance as Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde: The Musical earned her a prestigious Los Angeles Ovation Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Following this recognition, she joined the Broadway National Tour of Jersey Boys: The Musical, starring as “Lorraine” and portraying 15 other dynamic female roles throughout her run.

In addition to her success on stage and screen, Jaycie has also worked behind the audition table, serving as an audition reader and table reader for top-tier casting offices such as Mayers & Brandstatter, Lally & Tilling, and Kirsten DeWolf. This experience has provided her with invaluable insights into the audition and casting process, which she now passes along to her students in their training.

Now, in the later part of her career, Jaycie has shifted her passion and expertise from the audition room to the classroom. Many of her students have gone on to sign with top talent agencies and book impressive roles. Her diverse background in stage, screen, and casting, combined with her dedication to nurturing young talent, makes her an inspiring and highly sought-after mentor for aspiring actors on a professional track.
